Sorry but I’ve been seeing this a lot around tumblr and it reallys annoys me ok, like how people always say Audrey Hepburn is overrated? She’s actually not, it’s just Breakfast at Tiffany’s is overrated not Audrey herself. If anything she’s underrated because people only know her for being that woman in the LBD with pearls and a long cigarette holder, and don’t realise she made other amazing films that are better than BAT and was a lot more than Holly Golightly.

#maybe it’s not BAT that’s overrated but the cultural worship of it #idg what is SO fascinating about Holly #and imagine if Capote got what he wanted and Marilyn was cast instead???? #good grief it would be even more unbearable #b/c Marilyn should be remembered for more than she is #but this is a post about my one true love Audrey #who claimed Holly was her best role because it was her most difficult?? #oh honey no #i couldn’t ever dismiss her performance because it /is/ wonderful but people don’t see that #they just see the fashion and the city and ~I don’t belong to anyone and poof! #a multi layered woman and more than fairly talented actress is reduced to merely a shallow movie icon #it’s frustrating because some people only know Audrey from BAT #one time a girl’s eyes glazed over because i was talking to her about The Children’s Hour (a vastly superior film and performance) #haha what #no really w h a t

I just really think these tags deserve to be seen.
